Classic Sean Connery Bond flick, in which the suave spy takes on the bizarre eponymous villain (Gert Frobe) and gets the best-named Bond babe: Pussy Galore (played by former Avenger Honor Blackman). Shirley Eaton’s death by gold also provides one of the most memorable demises of the entire series.
Bondologists will also wish to note that Shirley Bassey‘s theme song kicked off the tradition of having pop songs as Bond themes. But it nearly didn’t happen because tin-eared producer Harry Saltzman hated John Barry‘s song and tried to have it removed.
