A belated UK release for this teensploitation flick which was unveiled at Sundance back in January and works very hard indeed to do the zeitgeist-surfy thing as its cast of Twittering, Instragramming and selfie-fixated female high schoolers take on a hacker who’s posted a huge dump of their private information online.
This is certainly hyperactive in familiar yoof-flick style, but many critics weren’t buying it at all. “It’s a chaotic jumble of movie references, cellphone footage, emojis, trigger warnings and edgy teen content. But it’s the fumbled ‘feminist’ commentary that is just embarrassing to watch,” reckoned the LA Times.
