‘Idiosyncratic’ is probably the best word to describe this three-hour film centred on an ailing suburban Lisbon elevator manufacturer whose workers occupy the premises and plan to run it themselves. And occasionally break into song. As you do.
Reviews have been mixed, but enthusiasts draw comparisons between Pedro Pinho‘s film and the work of his fellow countryman Miguel Gomes, as well as Godard at his most political and Ken Loach.
