That’s right, it’s him: the Jigsaw Killer from the Saw flicks. Horror nerds will not need reminding that vengeful John Kramer (Tobin Bell) – for it is he – was actually killed off in Saw III back in 2006, but the series staggered on for another four flashback-driven episodes. Coming seven years after Saw 3D, this eighth film resurrects him once again for Halloween.

So what’s going on? Is he really alive? Is there a copycat killer? Has Lionsgate completely run out of ideas? Or is it simply unwilling to let go of one of its highest-grossing franchises? One thing’s for sure: we can expect new gruesome and macabre  Heath Robinson-esque tortures to inflict on the human body.
