No, really: it’s the 11th film in the slasher franchise and a direct sequel to John Carpenter’s 1978 original, ignoring all the crap that unfolded in the other movies.
David Gordon Green is behind the camera for this Blumhouse production, which has Carpenter’s blessing (he also serves as executive producer and composed the soundtrack) and is set 40 years on from the first film. Also returning is former Scream Queen Jamie Lee Curtis, reviving her Laurie Strode character for what is billed as a final confrontation (yeah, right) with masked Michael Myers.
