If you haven’t yet lost interest in superheroes altogether, you need to know that this is the fifth instalment in the DC Extended Universe. Nerds will need to take a fresh pair of underpants since, as the title implies, this is the DC version of The Avengers, bringing the whole gang together to do battle with a super-duper bad guy.
In this instance, Bruce Wayne/Batman (Ben Affleck) and Diana Prince/Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) recruit The Flash (Ezra Miller), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and our fishy friend Aquaman (Jason Momoa) to whup the bottom of evil alien general Steppenwolf (Ciaran Hinds in motion-capture form). Still, it’s comforting to know that even space alien bad guys read Hermann Hesse. Possibly.
