Given the massive commercial success of the first Paddington back in 2014, the eventual arrival of a sequel was never in doubt. All the old gang are back, including director Paul King, producer David Heyman and most of the original cast: Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi, Imelda Staunton and Ben Whishaw (as the voice of the eponymous ursine marmalade junkie).
Joining in this time are Hugh Grant as a narcissistic actor and Brendan Gleeson as a safecracker. The story has Paddington turning detective to collar a book thief. So convinced were distributors that this one would also be a hit that they’ve already commissioned Paddington 3.
