Another Whitney Houston documentary? Truly, they spoil us. If Nick Bloomfield’s Whitney: Can I Be Me? didn’t fulfil all your Whitney needs, this new film from the producers of Amy promises a more in-depth approach, with all the access to previously unseen material that an authorised doc enjoys.

Fortunately this is no hagiography, with Marley director Kevin Macdonald going into some dark places  – spousal abuse, drugs, estrangement from her father, being booed by African-Americans for being ‘too white’, etc – as he explores the pop diva’s rise and fall.
