As documentary high concepts go, this takes some beating. In a Sicilian classroom, three groups of recently arrived refugees are greeted by the same teacher, who displays strikingly different attitudes to each of them. He’s dismissive towards the first lot, exudes empathy for the second, and the third are treated in line with actual European immigration policy, laden down as it is with complex rules. The migrants are real, the teacher is played by an actor, and the whole thing is a perfect reflection of the realities of refugee politics.
