Billed as the definitive documentary about the troubled British fashion designer who committed suicide in 2010 at the age of 40, this does the full rags-to-riches thing as its charts Alexander McQueen‘s rise from self-described “East End yob” to international fame.

The key moments of his boundary-pushing career are all included – the Kate Moss hologram, spray painting a white dress onto Shalom Harlow, etc – as Ian Bonhôte‘s film builds up an intimate portrait from home video, behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with family, friends and collaborators.
