Jeremy Renner, Jon Hamm, Ed Helms, Jake Johnson and Hannibal Buress play a quintet of fortysomething buddies who’ve been engaged in a game of tag – or ‘You’re it!’ – ever since childhood. Each May, they drop everything to ambush one another in no-holds-barred style at weddings, funerals and so on in this manchild-behaving-badly romp.
As so often with these things, the female members of the cast (Isla Fisher, Leslie Bibb, etc) are left with little to do. Perhaps the most notable thing about the film is that it’s based on a bizarre true story that was first reproted by the Wall Street Journal back in 2013.
