Japanese anime auteur Mamoru Hosoda‘s simple yet highly effective tale puts a magical spin on the age-old difficulty of a nipper adjusting to the arrival of a newborn sibling.
Spoiled four-year-old Kun is not best pleased when his baby sister Mirai turns up, seeing her as a rival for his parents’ love. Fortunately, enchantment intervenes in a magical garden, where a series of visitations – including the teenage Mirai, who’s popped back from the future – help Kun to learn how to be a big brother.
