‘Hugely exciting moment’ as plans submitted for sports & education hub
A multi-purpose new building in south Bristol will serve as a base for the Bristol City Robins Foundation.
The sports & education hub at Filwood Playing Fields in Knowle West will also be a new clubhouse for Mendip Broadwalk FC and include changing rooms, an indoor sports hall, education classrooms, a conference space, and community areas including a cafe, bar and function room.
Plans submitted to Bristol City Council also reveal a “comprehensive” upgrade to the outdoor space with new and improved grass pitches, two artificial grass pitches, a multi-use games area, mini pitch, Cruyff Court, and children’s play areas.
Bristol City Robins Foundation CEO, Dan White, said: “This is a hugely exciting moment for the Robins Foundation and for the local community in south Bristol.
“These proposals represent a long-term investment in people, providing high-quality facilities that will support education, improve health and wellbeing, and create inclusive opportunities for everyone.
“We want this to be a space that the community can be proud of, somewhere that brings people together and creates real, lasting impact.”
