My Bristol Favourites: Sarah Berry
Sarah Berry has been named among Cycling UK’s 100 Women in Cycling.
Now living in St Paul’s, Sarah grew up in Australia and moved to Bristol from London. She is an advocate of cycling for all and low traffic neighbourhoods, and is a trustee of Living Streets, a charity for everyday walking.
She fell in love with cycling during the pandemic, writing a blog about her experiences as a new cyclist and starting a podcast about cycling called The New Road Rage.
These are Sarah’s top-five Bristol favourites:
La Guinguette

“If there’s anything better for winter blues than a £3.50 kir cassis and tartifries from La Guinguette on Cheltenham Road, I haven’t found it.”
The Bristol & Bath Railway Path

“Nothing makes me happier than seeing all different kinds of bodies on bikes – and that’s exactly what you get on the cycle path. From toddlers to octogenarians on tandems, it’s got something for everyone.”
St Andrew’s Park

“Right now it’s full of redwings, a winter visitor to the UK from the Arctic. You can watch the birds hop about while sipping a hot drink from the Tea Garden.”
Narroways

“I love a Sunday afternoon walk through Narroways, followed by saying hello to the pigs at St Werburgh’s City Farm and a pint at the next door Farm pub.”
Bristol Central Library

“The building itself is gorgeous, peaceful and, best of all, full of books that you can borrow for free whenever you want.”
