By Martin Booth  Friday Jul 11, 2025

Hannah Cousins is a printmaker specialising in linocut artworks and also an illustrator.

She has recently collaborated with Nick Hand for P.S. With Love, a new street dressing installation across Park Street, Queen’s Road and the surrounding area.

These are Hannah’s top-five Bristol favourites:

Bertha’s Pizza

“I am a Bertha’s Pizza devotee. No weekend in Bristol is complete without a taste of their sourdough pizza and homemade gelato from their restaurant in Wapping Wharf. And to top it off, the owners Graham and Kate are the nicest people you could meet.”

Wilding Cider

Wilding Cider founders Sam and Beccy Leach were previously owners of Birch restaurant in Southville – photo: Wilding Cider

“I am not usually a cider drinker, but one small, delicious glass of Wilding Cider converted me! They own two orchards in Chew Magna and look after four others, making cider naturally with no additions using regenerative farming techniques.”

University of Bristol Botanic Garden

“I love visiting the glasshouses at the Botanic Garden, filled with tropical plants and cacti. It feels like a world away from the rest of the city. A lovely place to escape to for a few hours.

Hart’s Bakery

Coffee and pastries from Hart’s Bakery are what dreams are made of – photo: Hart’s Bakery

Hart’s Bakery is a Bristol institution! I always allow extra time before a train journey from Temple Meads to grab a coffee and a pasty from Hart’s. But really, it’s a destination in itself. The perfect spot for a bit of lunch or a delicious slice of cake.”

Centrespace

The bridge across Leonard Lane used to connect the Bristol Times & Mirror newspaper offices on St Stephen’s Street (now a backpackers hostel) to the printing presses in what is now Centrespace – photo: Martin Booth

“Tucked down Leonard Lane, a little alley in the Old City you may never have noticed was there, is Centrespace, a series of artists’ studios and Centrespace Gallery. It’s also home to the Letterpress Collective, an amazing letterpress studio that hosts workshops so you can learn the great craft of printing for yourself.”
