Women’s Equality Party to host open mic night
Harnessing the positive energy from January’s Women’s March, the Bristol branch of the Women’s Equality Party are hosting a fundraiser in St Paul’s on Saturday with an open mic format giving anybody the chance to take a five minutes slot tackling relevant issues through humour, poetry, song or theatre.
The What Women Want Open Mic Night aims to create a safe space for Bristol women to make their voice heard and for everybody to show support for the cause.

“Finally, women are standing up and saying ‘this is our time’. We can’t let this energy die down.”
Having been formed just over a year ago, this will be the party’s first event of its kind.
Confirmed acts include Rosy Roberts performing her cabaret act My EGgO; Sian Norris, Bristol-based writer and feminist acitivist giving a talk; Cheryl Morgan of Ujima Radio; and a screening of My Clitoris by Bristol charity Integrate UK.

These headliners will be interspersed by whoever wants to get involved on the night, with topics set to range from the serious to the downright ridiculous.
