Two released over Hanham river body
Two people arrested on suspicion of murder after a body was found in the River Avon in Hanham have been released as it was revealed the victim drowned.
A 24-year-old man was released on bail and a 21-year-old woman was released indefinitely after being arrested on suspicion of murder on Thursday after the discovery by police divers.
A post-mortem examination on Friday morning found the cause of death was drowning. Police said they are treating the death as “unexplained”.
Police launched an appeal for the public to help investigate the circumstances leading up to the death of the man, who has not yet been formally identified.
