Taser seized in police drugs crackdown

By Bristol24/7  Tuesday Nov 22, 2016

Police arrested five people, took four cars off the road, and seized drugs and cash following a number of coordinated operations in Hartcliffe.

Officers carried out a warrant at an address on Pigott Avenue, following a tip-off from residents. Inside they discovered wraps of suspected cocaine and a 29-year-old man and 22-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

Three men known to police were stopped in the car park of Morrisons on Peterson Avenue

Three men were arrested after a car was stopped at Morrisons in Hartcliffe and a large amount of cash and suspected cannabis was discovered.

The men, aged 31, 27 and 29 were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B drugs.

Officers later carried out a warrant at an address connected to one of these men and found a taser in a bedroom.

Four cars were also seized because the drivers had no insurance.

Hartcliffe beat manager PC Richard Jeffery said: “People in this area shouldn’t have to put up with drugs being dealt in their community. Drugs ruin lives, not just of the people addicted to them, but the people who are often exploited in their production and sale.

“Cars being driven without insurance are a serious issue in this part of Bristol as we know they are often connected to drugs. So if you have suspicions that someone is driving without insurance, or indeed a licence, then please let us know.”
