Search for Jason Gurgul postponed after body pulled from docks
A planned search for missing Jason Gurgul was postponed on Thursday after a man’s body was found in the Floating Harbour.
The body was recovered by police divers close to Loch Fyne restaurant on Welsh Back.
Writing on Facebook, Gemma Charlie Davies said: “I have just been informed by family to update the group that the police have found a body .
“No other information is known or can be given at this present time. The Public search is postponed until police identify the body found .
“Thoughts are with Jason’s family and loved ones at this difficult time while they await on news.”
Jason was dropped off in the city centre by his sister Kylie for a night out with work friends on Friday, April 28.
Kylie was supposed to pick him up that night, but he messaged her shortly before midnight to say he would get a taxi back home.
CCTV images shows Jason in the Old Duke pub on King Street and later on Baldwin Street at about 2.30am on Saturday morning after he had visited the Doghouse bar on St Stephen’s Street.
CCTV later shows him at the One Stop shop in Queen Charlotte Street at about 3.50am – his last known sighting.
A police statement on Thursday said: “Our dive team has recovered a man’s body from the Floating Harbour near Welsh Back in Bristol this afternoon.
“While it’s too early for any formal identification, we are keeping the family of missing man Jason Gurgul fully updated.”
