Bristol mayor Marvin Rees has been named as one of UK’s top 100 most inspirational Christians alongside the likes of the Queen, Cliff Richard and Mary Berry.
Also on the list compiled by politics and religion blog Archbishop Cranmer is Bristol gymnast Claudia
The list is topped by Belfast baker Daniel McArthur, who refused to bake a pro-gay-marriage themed cake and were found guilty of discriminating against a customer on the grounds of sexual orientation.
Rees is a member of Christians on the Left who has encouraged churches in Bristol to engage more effectively with politics.
He was nominated for “his faith is at the heart of all he does. He has shown how Christians can make an incredibly positive impact in public life.”
In Fragapane’s nomination, it says that the Olympian gymnast and Strictly Come Dancing semi-finalist “frequently bears testimony to the vibrancy of her faith, about which she is certainly not ashamed”.
She was nominated for being “talented but modest with it… an inspirational role model for young people”.
Fragapane told The Telegraph in 2015 that she uses the power of prayer in the search of gold inspiration.
