Procession celebrates 1,500th birthday of Prophet Muhammad
A procession around Easton on Sunday afternoon celebrated the 1,500th birthday of the Prophet Muhammad.
The Grand Mawlid Jaloos started and finished at Easton Jamia Masjid on St Mark’s Road.
Those taking part waved flags as the procession headed along High Street, Bellevue Road, Robertson Road and Stapleton Road.

Muhammad was the founder of Islam, and is believed by Muslims to be the last in a long line of prophets that includes Moses and Jesus.
The events on Sunday in Easton took place in association with Bristol Sunni Forum, with the procession led by Sahibzada Pir Shaykh Fiaz ul Hassan Sarwari Qadri.
