Pedestrian in hospital with ‘serious injuries’ after being hit by car

A man has been hospitalised with serious injuries after being hit by a driver on the Downs on Wednesday.

Another man, in his 30s, was arrested at the scene in connection with the incident and remains in policy custody. The car involved in the crash was a white Audi A4.

Police say the injured man was walking in the area when the incident took place on the Circular Road at around 8pm on Wednesday. His next of kin have been informed.

Avon and Somerset Police officers are urging people with information to come forward by calling 101 and giving the reference 5223090852.
