Pro-EU protest planned for College Green
Two consecutive Pro-EU protests are planned for Monday and Tuesday evening in the wake of the Brexit vote.
Monday’s has been organised by student Rhiannon Thomas, editor of UWE’s student newspaper WesternEye, who says: “Bristol as a community is not afraid or hateful of other people, regardless of who they are, where they come from, what they look like, what they believe in, and to show that we are all one and united.”
A protest on Tuesday has now been organised called Stand Together Bristol, starting at 5pm in front of City Hall.
The Monday demonstration aims to show “solidarity and support to our European brothers and sisters” and is planned to start at 6.30pm in front of City Hall.
Two thousand people had registered their interest in attending by Monday afternoon on the event’s Facebook page.
