Former Dalai Lama translator to visit Bristol
The director of the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives and former translator will be making an appearance in Bristol.
Geshe Lhakdor, a Tibetan Buddhist scholar who interpreted for the 14th Dalai Lama for 16 years, will be speaking at Hamilton House in Stokes Croft.
Lhakdor worked closely with the Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, throughout his career, translating works including The Way to Freedom and The Joy of Living and Dying in Peace.

The talk, ‘The Power of Compassion in navigating modern life’s challenges’, promises to explore how connection can help “cultivate resilience” and tackle modern life.
It will then be followed by a Q&A session with the scholar.
Hosted by Bristol4Tibet, the event will take place on November 17 at 6.30pm.
On behalf of Bristol4Tibet, Norzin Wangmo told Bristol24/7: “We’re honoured to be hosting Geshe Lhakdor here in Bristol.
“As a respected scholar, translator, and global thought leader, he brings a rare depth of insight into how timeless human wisdom can help us navigate the challenges of modern life.
“His visit is a wonderful opportunity for our community to engage directly with these ideas in a spirit of openness and dialogue.”
The event is free entry, but the team recommends arriving early to secure a seat.
