Elevating the voices of women in Bristol’s night life scene

By Ellie Pipe  Wednesday Mar 9, 2022

Fittingly, Lost Horizon is currently hosting a pioneering cultural exhibition dedicated to celebrating women in electronic music.

It is the influence of the women featured in the Lady of the House project and the many more who make the city’s nightlife scene so special that Bristol24/7 will seek to champion as we reveal details of our upcoming event.

Hosted in partnership with Bristol Nights, Celebrating Women in the Nighttime Economy will take place at Lost Horizon on March 31 from 6pm and will feature an exciting lineup of panellists from across the night life scene.

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!
Exclusive collabs from Bristol’s favourite food vendors, available for one night only. Be first to grab your free copy of the EatDrink24/7 guide – plus every ticket comes with a free limited-edition beer can.

Many of the prominent and diverse venues for which the city is famed are run by women. From behind the bars to the DJ decks, on stage and behind the scenes,  at the head of Carnival, festivals and more, women and non-binary people play a vital role in curating the city’s vibrant, varied exciting and inclusive nightlife scene.

We want to shine a light on the women and non-binary people leading the way after dark, discuss the vital role of women in making Bristol a safe, welcoming, diverse and inspiring city after dark and tackle some of the challenges faced, such as safety and accessibility.

A live panel discussion will be hosted by Bristol24/7’s Deputy Editor Ellie Pipe.

Panellists confirmed so far include:
Carly Heath, Bristol’s nighttime economy advisor
Laura Lewis-Paul, founder of Saffron Records and co-founder of Beyond the Mix
Emma Harvey, CEO of Trinity Arts Centre
With more to be confirmed.

The panel discussion will start at 6.30pm and will be followed by music and there will be an opportunity to stay and talk or dance until 9pm.
