6 pants messages of protest against MetroBus

First they warned of a white elephant. Then they took to the trees. Now protesters have hung their pants out on the road as demonstrations against the MetroBus continue.

The latest roadworks for the new guided bus route have left Stoke Lane, which crosses the M32, and surrounding roads congested.

Stoke Lane itself became a temporary one-way road in June. But locals have had enough already, writing messages of protest on their pants:

A spokesperson at MetroBus said the one-way system was essential for safety of constructions workers and allowed the project to be completed faster.

They added: “The one-way system was chosen because it will have the least impact on traffic. Directing the traffic in this direction minimises disruption, it also relieves pressure on the ring-road junctions because fewer motorists will need to make right turns.”
