Community trust reopens soft play following sudden closure
A community trust has reopened a soft play following the closure of its previous one after more than a decade.
Play Patch Community Soft Play opened within Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust (LNT) on Gainsborough Square shortly after Easter, replacing what was previously Boing!.
The trust had previously launched a fundraiser to help them reopen the soft play, after an “outpouring of sadness” following Boing!’s announcement of closure in February.

The soft play is now run by Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust
After community efforts helped the trust reach its first target swiftly, it is now inching closer to its new stretch target of £4000.
According to the crowdfunder, the new soft play will continue to employ the same team from Boing! while also keeping alive the same “welcome and warm feeling we all know and love”.
The LNT team said: “Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust exists to support our community and to create a fairer, healthier, greener Lockleaze.
“Play Patch is run according to LNT’s values of being welcoming, community-led, inclusive, connective and collaborative.
“We aim to create a safe and welcoming environment for all children to experience fun, active, creative play. Along with affordable, balanced meals, this promotes health, sensorimotor and social development.”
Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust was previously shortlisted for a Bristol Legends award in the Sustainability category
