Miro Lounge is latest Lounge to open in Bristol

By Martin Booth  Friday Jun 20, 2025

Loungers have come a long way since opening their first cafe and bar in a former opticians on North Street in 2002.

Since those early days they have opened hundreds of Lounges across the UK but now have returned to their home city of Bristol to open their latest space.

Open every day from 9am until late, Miro Lounge is located within the former Bocabar in the Paintworks off Bath Road.

Miro Lounge has taken over what used to be Bocabar in the Paintworks

The Loungers team promise “heavily patterned wallpapers, tiling and stripped wooden floors now feature alongside oversized vintage sofas, upholstered lounge chairs, eclectic artwork and statement wall and pendant lighting, creating a variety of cosy and elegant drinking and dining areas to choose from”.

Loungers head of community, John English, said he is “so excited to… show off what we’ve done to this well-loved building”.

He added: “As we’ve said previously, we’re as passionate about community and great hospitality as Mel and Paul Eavis, the previous owners of Bocabar, so we’re sure locals and visitors will enjoy what we have to offer.”

Although Bocabar in the Paintworks is no more, there remains a Bocabar in Finzels Reach.

The all-day menu at Miro Lounge features everything from breakfast, tapas and salads to burgers and buttermilk fried chicken

Miro Lounge promises to be “the perfect place to relax and unwind in good company”
