Marmo to open wine bar

By Martin Booth  Tuesday Nov 5, 2024

A new wine bar is opening on Friday underneath one of Bristol’s most acclaimed restaurants.

Marmo Wine Bar will be open on Friday and Saturday evenings in the basement of Marmo on Baldwin Street.

Its owners describe it as “an intimate and informal space” which will have an “eclectic selection of wines by the glass, spontaneously selected from the cellar each night”.

On Instagram, the Marmo team wrote: “There is light… at the bottom of the stairs!

“Marmo Wine Bar opening this Friday, 8 November!

“The bar is an intimate and informal space, open on Friday and Saturday evenings – no reservations, just pop in!

“We will be serving a regularly changing bar menu, the first of which will include puntarelle alla romana, smoked cod’s roe and crisps and taleggio toasties.

“We will be pouring an eclectic selection of wines by the glass, spontaneously selected from the cellar each night.

“Come for an apéro before your reservation upstairs, stay for a night cap afterwards or settle in for the evening.”
