Fourth site for ‘cyclists-friendly’ cafe
A sea of cakes and pastries beckoned visitors as they entered the fourth site of the independent cafe, a sister venture of Sandwi on the Go.
The Sandwi and Sandwi on the Go cafes, which can currently be found within the Engine Shed, Bristol Central Library and Create Centre, opened their new site on the corner of Prince Street and Royal Oak Avenue on Friday.
With freshly wrapped sandwiches on display, sweet treats neatly placed near the till and a long list of available beverages, there were plenty of options for patrons to choose from on the opening day.

Fresh sandwiches on offer at the cafe included ham and cheddar, tuna and pesto, falafel, chicken Caesar and others
The cafe has replaced what was most recently vegan pasta restaurant, Pastan, which shut down unexpectedly in October 2024.
Sandwi opened its first site in Engine Shed in 2019, just a short walk from Temple Meads, quickly becoming a favourite among travellers and cyclists.
Local suppliers like Clifton Coffee, Forest Bakery, the Bristol Loaf, Cakesmiths and others are the heart of all goods sourced for the Sandwi cafes.
The “cyclists-friendly” cafe, announced their near Queen Square on Instagram: “We are so excited to announce that Sandwi on the Square is officially open.
“Come and find us just by Queen Square, we can’t wait to see you soon!”
