Ethical cafe group wins B Corp status

By Milan Perera  Tuesday Oct 7, 2025

Bristol-based cafe and catering business Double Puc has received B Corp certification, joining a global network of companies that balance profit with social and environmental purpose.

Founded in 2021 by Griff Holland and Ed Brown, the former co-founders of cafe chain Friska, Double Puc operates several Bristol venues, including The Eye cafe, workplace cafes at the Crescent and OVO Energy and the resident cafe operations at We The Curious and Wake The Tiger.

Double Puc joins a host of other Bristol B Corps, such as Wake The Tiger, Hobbs House Bakery, Marshfield Ice Cream, UES and Clifton Coffee.

The company achieved a B Impact Score of 86.5, with particularly strong performance in environmental, governance and worker impact.

Co-founder Holland said the recognition reflects the business’s founding ethos of “doing the right thing” for people and the planet.

He added: “Becoming a B Corp is a proud milestone for us and a reflection of the purpose that’s been part of Double Puc from day one.”

Brown described the process as “comprehensive” and a “benchmark” for future progress.

He said: “The certification process really makes you look at every part of your business. Our score recognises our work so far, particularly in how we support our team and reduce our environmental footprint, but also sets a benchmark for where we want to go next.”

As one of only a few certified B Corp caterers in the UK, the company said it plans to build on the current milestone by further investing in “sustainability, local suppliers and inclusive employment”.

The ethical cafe group also recently received a major six-figure investment boost to expand its fast-growing outside catering division.
