Bakers & Co open second cafe

By Martin Booth  Wednesday Mar 9, 2022

From the early days of Bravas, co-owners Kieran and Imogen Waite have ensured that all of their subsequent openings have been distinct.

So now Bristol is blessed with Bravas, Gambas, Cargo Cantina and Bakers & Co, with Masa & Mezcal not reopening after lockdown.

In a new development, however, there is now a second Bakers & Co following the success of the original on Gloucester Road which pivoted during the pandemic to become a bakery and provisions store.

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!
Exclusive collabs from Bristol’s favourite food vendors, available for one night only. Be first to grab your free copy of the EatDrink24/7 guide – plus every ticket comes with a free limited-edition beer can.

Bakers & Co II is located within a converted shipping container in Cargo 2 within Wapping Wharf, with their goods able to be enjoyed on a few tables and chairs outside.

Head baker Brett St Clair has retained the focus on sourdough, with four different loaves of bread for sale.

Sourdough pastries including kouign amanns, seasonal fruit Danish and chocolate babkas; and chocolate and dulce de leche brownies, and brown butter and almond cakes, are on the counter from 8am.

And from 11.30am, lunch options include ham and cheese croissants, cream cheese bagel croissants and sausage rolls made from chistorra, a style of chorizo popular in northern Spain.
