A new cafe and bakery has opened on Whiteladies Road. But why frequent a chain owned by a private equity firm when so many great Bristol indies are only a few hundred yards away?

Bristol is renowned for its brilliant independent businesses but they will disappear if we do not support them.

Here are 11 places you should visit that are not Gail’s:

Gail’s has at least installed new bicycle stands outside their new cafe on the corner of Whiteladies Road and Alma Road.
