Review: Kofi Stone, Electric Bristol – ‘Speedy delivery and dynamic flow’
This show at Electric was one to remember. From the crowd to the stage, the whole event was an unforgettable experience.
Headliner Kofi Stone brought people from a wide range of ages, from teens to adults. It was clear that both longtime fans and first time listeners had gathered for the event and every single person was filled with exhilaration. All three of tonight’s artists were remarkable in their own unique ways and every second felt special.
The moment Barney Artist, the opening act, stepped on stage the audience erupted with intense excitement. From Forest Gate, East London, the hip hop artist hyped everybody up for the night ahead.
A highlight was Blowin Steam (Open Up Your Mind) as the crowd interacted with the song and sang along. There was an amazing atmosphere full of roaring applause.
Barney is a natural performer and danced on stage while the audience participated. During Where’s My Crown? the entire audience danced and jumped around, creating a surreal atmosphere. With a sound ranging from hip hop to grime and even a bit of jazz, Barney Artist really made his mark on the evening and was a major asset to the lineup.

Sam Recks, a rising UK rapper from South East London, wowed everybody with his stage presence. From the moment he came onstage his confidence was clear, with clean delivery and an easy connection with the crowd.
His vocals sounded sharp live, giving his performance that extra edge. The crowd danced to the beats on his songs, with every second of his set entertaining, lively and full of energy.
A peak of the show was Suns Out Buns Out. It had the fans singing along to all the lyrics, creating a vibe that left everyone buzzing long after the show ended. Recks is clearly a confident performer with a chill yet assured essence. I’m sure that many first time listeners will now be hooked on his music.

The concert’s headliner, Kofi Stone, really pulled the evening together. An R&B, soul, hip-hop and grime artist from Birmingham, Kofi has a significant mainstream following of loyal fans.
His speedy delivery and dynamic flow brought every track to life, while his stage movements and presence kept the audience fully engaged.
The stage was decorated as a reflection of his vibe with huge sunflowers towering over him to represent his soulful and beautiful lyrics, in line with his latest album All The Flowers Have Bloomed.

His music presents meaningful messages in a lyrical way that makes you think about deep lyrics and not just his powerful beats. The audience were impressed by his skill at rapping so quickly while still making sense of his words. He brought a powerful ambience into the venue that made us not only vibe to the music but absorb the lyrics at the same time.
Kofi’s music ranged from love songs such as Venice to classic hip hop tunes like Busker Flow which demonstrated his talent for fast rapping. It was a show in which he totally proved himself.

All in all, it was an incredible performance from all three artists. The energy in the room was electric, the crowd loved every moment, and it was impossible not to leave smiling.
From the lighting design and scenery to the music and stage performance, this show was lively and vibrant, while the passion the three performers poured into their music made the night feel truly thrilling.
