By Bristol24/7  Monday Jan 25, 2016

BBC 6 Music have revealed the full lineup of the 6 Music Festival By Day, a celebration of live music, conversation, comedy and spoken word set to take place at the Trinity Centre on February 13 and 14.

Highlights for the event include live music from psychedelic maverick Julian Cope; alternative hip hop poetry from Saul Williams; Underworld’s Karl Hyde and Rick Smith in conversation with Lauren Laverne and an exclusive preview of Ring The Alarm, a documentary about the life and legacy of Bristol music legend DJ Derek.

Both Saturday and Sunday’s day events, which will see BBC Radio 6 Music broadcast live from the Trinity Centre from 10am-4pm, will also feature an exhibition of the Bristol music scene in pictures by renowned underground photographer Beezer, an independent record fair, screen printing, the Jah Lokko Soundsystem and refreshments from the Women’s Institute.

6 Music’s Mary Anne Hobbs and king of the underground scene Pinch curate an event at Basement 45 on the Friday night, which aims to celebrate the diversity of Bristol’s electronic music talent.  Artists of the moment Ziro, Kahn & Neek and Lamont are just some of the acts that will lay on set-after-set of dub, grime, techno and more.

Saturday will see 6 Music presenters Craig Charles and Nemone headline a night of funk, soul, disco and house at Motion, opening with The Allergies and featuring the likes of Mind Enterprises, Spatial Awareness and big-name Bristol house producer Julio Bashmore.

Tickets to both club nights will go on sale on Saturday, January 30 from 9am and can be bought via the 6 Music website, starting at £10.
