Bollards installed outside accident-prone pub
Eight bollards now stand guard outside a pub which drivers have an unfortunate tendency to keep driving into.
The bollards were installed outside the Merchants Arms on Tuesday; just three days after the latest incident of a driver smashing their car into the pub.
This in turn came after a car was driven through the front wall of the Hotwells hostelry in March.
Following the crash in March, a crowdfunder set up to pay for “preventive measures” at the pub raised more than £5,000.
The new bollards were put in place by council contractors ETM.
