Nazis and nosh
From the Bristol Bad Film Club to Hot Tub Cinema, we’ve seen film screenings in plenty of novel environments around town. But now newcomers Cannoli & Gun (the name comes from The Godfather, fact fans) have hit upon combining fine dining with big screen entertainment. Their inaugural event is a screening of Quentin Tarantino’s tongue-in-cheek WWII revenge flick Inglourious Basterds at the Stock Exchange Bakery on April 24. Mercifully, the audience will not be invited to eat leaden death. Instead, they’ll be offered freshly baked strudel and milk. How come? Well, the film’s most evil Nazi, Colonel Hans Landa (Christoph Waltz), has a fondness for two things: really good strudel and a nice cold glass of milk.
Cannoli & Gun is the brainchild of Bristol Bad Film Club co-founder Tim Popple, who promises many more suitably mouth-watering events in the weeks and months to come. We’re already looking forward to C&G’s Barfly piss-up. Possibly.
Tickets for Inglourious Basterds cost £10 (inc food) and can be booked here.
