Independent short film festival returns for eighth edition
An independent short film festival promising “community creativity” is returning to Bristol for its eighth edition.
The No Reason Short Film Festival will take place on November 29 at Circomedia in St Paul’s and is “accessible to all” regardless of one’s background, age, culture, or experience.
Festival director, Jara Rodriguez, had previously called the Bristol-born event a way to “connect art and culture”.

Created for the “joy of storytelling”, the festival started with a small group of friends making short films to celebrate a birthday.
The festival organisers say that the event has grown into an open and public event, with the 2025 edition taking place at the “world-class” Circomedia.
Entry to the festival is charged but submissions can be made free of cost, with organisers clarifying that there are “no professional requirements” needed to be a part of it.
Alongside showcasing amazing film talent, the festival includes other forms of “artistic expression” which allows collaboration between local artists to “celebrate the richness of Bristol’s creative community”.
Born in Bristol in 2015, the festival’s former entries can be found on its YouTube channel.
Submissions for the festival’s 2025 edition close on November 23. More details can be found here: www.noreasonshortfilmfestival.com/festival
