Are you ready for a 20-hour X-Men marathon?
There are X-Men fans. There are serious X-Men fans. And then there are, frankly, X-Men nutters. It’s that final category who are being targeted by Vue Cinemas for their upcoming X-Men marathon on Tuesday 17 May.
Of course, we’re now quite used to movie marathons on the eve of new franchise releases. Only a couple of weeks ago, the Vue Cribbs Causeway screened a full five-movie Avengers marathon culminating in the first screening of Captain America: Civil War. But they’re really pushing the boat out for the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse. For forty-two of your puny human quids, you can gorge on all nine ‘X-Men universe’ flicks. That’s the six X-Men movies, plus three standalone spin-offs – two of them Wolverine movies. Yep, even the dismal X-Men Origins: Wolverine that star Hugh Jackman struggled to justify.
Not only will the marathon consume more than 20 hours of your life that you won’t get back (20 hours and 41 minutes to be precise), but you’ll also have to be up at the crack of dawn to catch the first screening at 6am. Suddenly that ‘Only the strong will survive’ tagline begins to make sense. Here’s the line-up in full:
X-Men 2D – 06.00
X-2 2D – 07.50
X-Men: The Last Stand 2D – 10.18
X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2D – 12.15
X-Men: First Class 2D – 14.35
Wolverine 2D – 16.55
X-Men: Days Of Future Past 2D – 19.30
Deadpool 2D – 21.51
X-Men: Apocalypse 3D – 00.01
