Global DJ heads up dance for the homeless
A house music clubnight will help build new micro-homes for people experiencing homelessness.
The charity night will be headlined by global DJ James Hype, bringing the audio-visual SYNC show from his Hï Ibiza residency to Bristol Beacon. It is one of only two UK performances for the DJ this year.
Under the BillyChip Live event platform, he’ll be supporting the charity Help Bristol’s Homeless with the aim of building three new micro-homes from shipping containers with proceeds from ticket sales.
is needed now More than ever
BillyChip is an innovative scheme, originally launched in Bristol, that converts donations into secure currency. Tokens purchased in participating cafes and shops can then be redeemed for food and drink by people experiencing homelessness.
BillyChip Live takes the idea one step further, raising funds through live events and enabling people to ‘chip in’ to permanent homes rather than temporary fixes.
“What if your rave built a home?” said Hype. “I’m proud to support BillyChip Live – it’s an honour to headline a night that’s doing more than entertaining.”
Jack Gascoigne of BillyChip said the event offers a new blueprint for what live music can achieve: “With James Hype on board, we’re proving that your night out can help someone get their life back.”
Help Bristol’s Homeless founder Jasper Thompson said the night will make a real difference.
“This is about hope, opportunity and community all rolled into one,” he said. “These homes change lives. Thanks to BillyChip Live, we’ll be able to give more people a safe place to begin again.”

The night is also set to be a unique one in terms of the show on offer.
The Beacon will transform into a Boiler Room-style 360 degree venue, with Hype surrounded by the crowd on all sides.
His SYNC show synchronises beats and motion with immersive visuals, providing a multi-sensory experience that the Beacon’s programme director, Todd Willis, said the venue is more than ready to provide following its redesign and refurbishment in 2023.
“This night really demonstrates the versatility of our spaces,” he said. “We have had DJs like Annie Mac and electronic producers like Max Cooper present large-scale sets and AV performances here, and just like this collaboration it pushes the boundaries of what a concert venue can do.”
Hype has said the show is ‘a declaration of what’s possible,’ explaining: “I wanted to push the boundaries of DJing by blending technology with artistry.”
The show takes place on November 22. Find all information and tickets at bristolbeacon.org/whats-on/james-hype-2025
