Marvin Rees’ autobiography, ‘My City’, to be published in June 2024

By Martin Booth  Monday Oct 2, 2023

Marvin Rees’ life has already been turned into a feature-length documentary, The Mayor’s Race. Now his story will be told via the written word.

His autobiography, My City, is scheduled for publication on June 20 2024, just weeks after his second term as the elected mayor of Bristol comes to an end.

The hardback book is believed to have been ghostwritten by Tom Bromley, with Rees meting Bromley last summer according to his diary.

News of Rees’ autobiography was first revealed by freelance journalist Joanna Booth on her Substack newsletter.

My City is yet to have a cover on the website of publisher Pan Macmillan, with one of the few pieces of information being that the tome will contain 320 pages.

Rees is described by Pan Macmillan as being “deeply committed to building a fairer, more inclusive world”.
