Spike Print Studio prepares for inaugural Spike Print Fair
As we move into the latter half of Spike Island’s 50th birthday year, the historic former tea-packing factory is preparing to host the inaugural Spike Print Fair.
Running across the final weekend in July, the event is presented by Spike Island and Spike Print Studio – the largest of its kind in the south west – in association with UWE Bristol School of Arts and Centre for Print Research (CFPR).
“Across three days, Spike Island will transform into a vibrant marketplace for original prints, publications and artist editions”, say the organising team.

“Visitors can buy work directly from artists, discover emerging and established practitioners, and explore one of the UK’s most dynamic printmaking communities.”
As well as a chance to find out more about printmaking and to collect work from independent artists at different stages of their careers, there will be plenty of opportunity to tour the studio, and try out a variety of techniques – from screen-printing to linocut and zine-making.
