Small St Espresso to open second cafe

By Bristol24/7  Monday Nov 23, 2015

Small Street Espresso will be opening a second cafe in Wapping Wharf, becoming the first retailer to announce a move to the new development behind the M Shed.

Small Street co-owner John Drysdale said they are looking to create “something a bit different, with its own feel” at Wapping Wharf, in a unit which will be twice the size of their original home opposite Bristol Crown Court in the Old City and have a larger outside seating area.

The cafe will be next to a new pedestrian walkway stretching from Gaol Ferry Bridge to the Floating Harbour, which is hoped to be lined with more independent food and drink businesses including restaurants and perhaps even a bakery.

The Small Street team hope to open their new home as early as March next year:

Wapping Wharf will comprise more than 600 flats in total, with the first phase featuring 168 homes.

John added: “We’re very excited to have the opportunity to be part of this new Bristol neighbourhood with a strong community focus and independent feel. We’re looking forward to bringing our unique coffee experience to the harbourside and meeting lots of new customers from the Wapping Wharf neighbourhood and beyond for their morning coffee hit as they walk to work.

“Our venture at Wapping Wharf will have a different style to Small Street Espresso but with the same atmosphere and high quality of specialist coffee. Our aim is for our new cafe to be welcoming to anyone and everyone with the option to really embrace our rich coffee offering for those who want to.”
