A new Aldi store is set to open in Bristol before Christmas.

Aldi will open its 11th store in Bristol at Cribbs Causeway on December 5 with double-Olympic gold medallist Tom McEwen due to cut the ribbon.

McEwen will be giving away complimentary goody bags filled with fresh fruit and vegetables to the first 30 customers in line on opening day.

McEwen won gold in team eventing at both the Paris and Tokyo Olympics.

He said: “I’m so excited to be opening Aldi’s new store. It will be great to chat with customers, and it’s a lovely way for me to thank Aldi for its support of Team GB.”

Shop manager Shaun Curtis-Fleckney added: “We can’t wait to open the doors to the new store in Cribbs Causeway.

“It’s going to be a special day, and having Olympic hero Tom McEwen join us will make it a morning to remember.”
