Made-to-order cycling apparel marks 200% growth
Kostüme, a Bristol-based cycling apparel brand, made significant strides in 2024, achieving three-figure organic growth.
Building on this momentum, the company has launched a crowdfunding campaign, offering customers and the public the opportunity to invest in its future success.
With the backing of investors including the former chairman of Wiggle, the campaign has already attracted strong interest, with its base investment target fully subscribed through exclusive early access.
The crowdfunding platform, Crowdcube, enables companies like Kostüme to exceed their initial funding targets, providing the brand with the resources to further accelerate its growth.
Thanks to a pre-order model, Kostüme only manufactures products that have already been sold, helping to eliminate overstocking, discounting, and the high volume of returns that have long plagued the cycling apparel industry.
The model not only reduces waste but also has a positive environmental impact. With fewer products being made, Kostüme can focus on delivering premium quality apparel without increasing costs for customers.

The company currently boasts the highest Trustpilot rating of any cycling apparel brand.
Kostüme’s rapid growth continues to gain traction across 29 countries, and the chief executive Ed Bartlett is optimistic about the future.
The funds raised through Crowdcube will enable Kostüme to accelerate key areas of its growth strategy, including expanding its winter insulated range, introducing direct fulfilment for EU customers, and launching new sustainability initiatives such as a repair and take-back scheme.
