Jobs lost as manufacturing firm enters liquidation

By Charlie Watts  Monday Apr 3, 2023

A manufacturer of windows and doors in south Bristol has gone into liquidation, costing 17 people their jobs.

West-End Windows has been trading from Novers Hill in Bedminster for almost 50 years.

But Lucinda Coleman and Stephen Hobson, of PKF Francis Clark, were appointed joint liquidators on March 16.

Mark Roach, associate director of PKF Francis Clark’s business recovery team, said West-End Windows has “suffered in recent times due to significant increases in material costs, the pandemic and loss of customers”.

“Sadly it was not possible to rescue the company as a going concern and there was no alternative to liquidation. Our focus now is on realising the assets of the company in order to deliver a return to creditors,” he added.

Anyone interested in potentially acquiring the assets of West-End Windows – including a large quantity of plant, machinery, stock and vehicles – should contact Simon Cornelius-Light at Lambert Smith Hampton.
