Former broadsheet journalist launches new PR firm
A newly-launched “journalism-led” public relations agency promises to raise the profile of the city’s “entrepreneurial talent”.
On The Up PR has been founded by the former Daily Telegraph journalist Rob Stewart and will provide communications support for SMEs, start-ups and scale-ups across the region.
Stewart pointed to the depth of entrepreneurial talent in the region but said many of the region’s strongest business stories “need to be told” through impactful PR campaigns.
He said: “The South West is a real hotbed of entrepreneurial activity with lots of great stories just waiting to be told by the region’s business leaders.

“And that’s why I can’t wait to work with the entrepreneurs who spearhead start-ups, scale-ups and more established companies that are committed to using media coverage as a vehicle for growth.”
The agency aims to blend traditional newsroom skills with modern, multi-media PR to help businesses build their profiles and attract new customers.
Westbury Park-based Stewart brings a wealth of experience from regional and national journalism, alongside more than a decade in charity and commercial communications, including eight years with Alzheimer’s Society and five years at local PR firms.
Current clients include Enable Law and Bristol design agency Burleigh Create, with previous work spanning sectors including med-tech, fintech, construction and engineering.
The former sports correspondent for the Telegraph said his background in compelling storytelling underpins the new venture.
