Barcan+Kirby associate receives Children Law Accreditation

By Bristol24/7  Sunday Sep 29, 2024

Jeremy Fagan, associate family solicitor at Barcan+Kirby‘s care team on North Street has received a Children Law Accreditation from the Law Society; a recognised quality standard for practitioners representing children in children law proceedings.

To achieve this, Jeremy attended a mandatory three-day course and then a separate interview with a Lawyer and Children’s Guardian about his experience and application of the law against a case study.

After waiting a few weeks to find out if his application was successful, Jeremy received the good news that he was accepted onto the panel. The Bristol child care proceedings scene is very limited on male Children Panel lawyers, hence a fine achievement for Jeremy after a short space of time since joining the firm in February 2024.

Jeremy said: “This is something I have wanted to achieve in my career and is a big part of moving into private practice. I am Very grateful for Barcan+Kirby giving me this opportunity in my first six months with the firm.”

Jeremy specialised in care proceedings since before he qualified as a solicitor in 2013 and has an in-depth knowledge of the pre-proceedings process and care proceedings.
