Artist call-out for 2027 edition of Bristol Light Festival
After another successful year, Bristol Light Festival will return from February 18 to 27 in 2027, with organisers launching an open call for artists and creatives to take part in next year’s event.
Now entering its seventh year, the free festival has become one of the UK’s leading light festivals, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors to Bristol during the winter months.
Organisers Bristol BID said the 2027 edition will once again coincide with the final weekend of the February half-term.
Applications are now open for artists, designers and creatives from Bristol, across the UK and internationally to submit proposals for light-based installations and artworks.

The 2026 festival attracted an estimated 200,000 visitors and generated more than £11m for the local economy, featuring large-scale installations including illuminated hot air balloons, an interactive cat sculpture and projection mapping celebrating Bristol’s electrical history.
Katherine Jewkes, creative director of Bristol Light Festival, said: “Each year Bristol Light Festival continues to grow in ambition, creativity and scale and we’re incredibly excited to begin shaping the 2027 programme.
“We’re looking for artists and creatives with bold ideas that can transform spaces, surprise audiences and create unforgettable moments across the city.”
