Director
Keith Thomas
Certificate

Running Time
89 mins

In Brooklyn’s Hassidic ‘Boro’ Park neighbourhood, rabbi Reb Shulem (Menashe Lustig) needs someone to be the overnight shomer (a person who watches over the dead body of a community member) for a recently deceased Holocaust survivor. Yakov (Dave Davis), a former Hassid who has lost his faith, reluctantly accepts the rabbi’s offer of $400, but soon realises that this is going to be a very unquiet night indeed thanks to our old chum the dastardly demon from the pits of hell.

First-time director Keith Thomas mines Orthodox Jewish tradition to put a moderately fresh twist on his suspenseful Blumhouse demonic possession horror.
